Almost Studio is a Brooklyn-based design practice established in 2018.
Their approach considers a project as one that continually reveals unknown cultural, social, and spatial potential as time passes -- in other words -- always almost. Therefore, the process of design and the close-out of construction is simply the starting point of their projects within a community. Experimenting with form, material, program, siting, landscape and time, Almost Studio’s projects join, grow, and change with the people and places around them.
This has led to several recent acknowledgments including, selection to the inaugural class of The Architect’s Newspaper Twenty to Watch in 2025 -- recognizing rising residential architecture design -- as well as being named AN Interior Top 50 North American Architect and Designer in 2024.
Over a wide variety of programs -- spanning theaters, residences, flagship stores, exhibitions, fashion runways, castles, furniture, and art festivals -- Almost Studio attempts to embed their projects with a humble and optimistic future of an “almost” -- rather than an absolute. The firm’s combination of playful and analytical experimentation has been featured in The New York Times, Vogue, and Architectural Record, among other publications. Such projects are made possible through inspiring collaborations with public organizations including Times Square Arts, The Shed, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Yale University, Sandy Liang, Chloé, Dallas Contemporary, and New York Fashion Week -- as well as with private clients for residences, offices, and restaurants in New York, California, Maine, Ohio, and France.
